Marudhanayagam has been a dream project for Kamal Haasan. The stalwart actor-filmmaker had launched the magnum opus way back in 1997 and even canned a few crucial scenes before shelving the film due to budget constraints.
Last year, Kamal expressed his wish to revive Marudhanayagam. However, the latest buzz in Kollywood circles reveals that Kamal is keen on roping in star hero Vikram to play the main lead this time around.
Kamal is said to be in no mood to be involved as an actor in this prestigious project, as he will be busy with the election campaign ahead of Tamil Nadu assembly elections. We will have to wait until an official announcement is made regarding this project.
Marudhanayagam is period film that showcases the legacy of the 18th century warrior Mohammad Yusuf Khan. The film is expected to release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, English and other major Indian languages.
