Star Tamil director Lokesh Kanagaraj has a huge fan base which is on par with several star heroes. The director of the blockbusters such as Khaidi, Master and Vikram is equally loved by the fans of all the actors down South. Lokesh has millions of fans on social media. But he shocked everyone when he said that he is planning to quit social media.

In a latest interview while promoting Leo, Lokesh said he is upset with the immense hate and trolling he receives during the fan wars on social media. “Fans display their over enthusiasm in proving their favourite heroes’ box office stamina. But this often turns ugly and fans troll me by tagging me in their posts. I get thousands of such posts on a daily basis and I’m actually thinking of quitting social media,” Lokesh said.

The soft-spoken director went on to say that the only reason he’s still on social media is to help newcomers and low budget movies. “I have zero interest in social media. It’s just a 2 and half hour entertainment and fans can all go back and do their jobs after that. There is no reason to treat it like a war,” he concluded. Lokesh’s latest film, Thalapathy Vijay’s Leo, released yesterday and registered record opening day collection at the global box office.
