Senior actor Rajashekar acted in a thriller film named Shekar, which hit the screens in 2022. The film was the official remake of the Malayalam film Joseph, and Jeevitha Rajashekar directed it. Shivani Rajashekar played Rajashekar’s daughter. The film’s screening was halted two days after its release due to financial issues, but after that, the court allowed the screening.
Shekar is yet to be released on OTT. As the film faced financial issues, OTT platforms refrained from acquiring digital rights. According to a recent report, a popular streaming platform has bought the movie’s post-theatrical streaming rights. The report also mentioned that Shekar will be made available for streaming soon.
Shekar is the first film for which Rajshekar, Shivani Rajashekar, and Jeevitha Rajashekar worked together. Athmiya Rajan, who was a part of the original, reprised her role in this remake as well. Anup Rubens composed the tunes. Beeram Sudhakara Reddy, Shivani Rajashekar, Shivathmika Rajashekar, and Boggaram Venkata Srinivas jointly produced this thriller.
