Why was the film titled Andhra King Taluka?
You will understand it while watching the movie. There is a deep meaning to it. The promotional material released so far has received a good response. The story is set in 2002. At that time, Andhra Pradesh was a single state, and hence the title Andhra King Taluka.
Why did you choose Upendra garu?
I saw an interview of Upendra garu with Rana. In that, Upendra garu said he would be more honest on screen than in real life. I connected a lot with that statement. When I penned the script, Upendra garu was on my mind. He has an immense fan following. You can see every star in Suriya’s character, played by Upendra garu
What is so special about Andhra King Taluka?
In South India, fans are emotionally connected to their heroes. What if we tell a story that explores the relationship between a hero and his fan? This thought struck me. While some films have touched upon fans’ emotions, Andhra King Taluka deals with an unique idea.
What was Ram’s reaction when you narrated him the script?
I first narrated this story to Mythri Movie Makers. At that time, Ram garu had already worked with a big director, while I was still just one-film-old. He asked if I could narrate the story in 20 minutes. I thought about it, and then the narration happened. Later, Mythri Movie Makers told me that this was the first time Ram garu had okayed a story in a single sitting.
Why did you choose Ram Pothineni?
Ram is a versatile actor. His performances are filled with immense energy. My protagonist should be like a livewire, and I wanted someone who could convincingly play a fan with that bundle of energy. Hence, I believed Ram was the right fit.
