The ongoing Tollywood strike has been a debated issue for some time. Initiated by the Employees’ Federation, the strike has drawn ire from both the Producers Council and the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce (TFCC). Subsequently, the TFCC passed a resolution affirming that producers have the right to hire anyone willing to work for reasonable wages.
Multiple meetings are currently underway among all parties to resolve the matter as soon as possible. Amid this, a rumor involving Megastar Chiranjeevi has gone viral on social media. The speculation suggested that Chiranjeevi had assured the workers that their demands would be met. However, the actor took to X and strongly refuted these baseless claims.
The actor stated, “It has come to my attention that some individuals claiming to be members of the Film Federation have gone to the media falsely claiming that I met them and assured that their demands regarding a 30% wage hike, among others, will be met, and that I will be resuming shooting very soon. I want to set the record straight that I have not met anyone from the federation.”
Chiranjeevi added, “This is an industry-wide issue, and no individual, including me, can give unilateral assurances to resolve it. The Film Chamber is the apex body of the Telugu Film Industry, and only the Film Chamber as a collective will engage with all concerned parties to reach a just solution. Until then, making such false claims is unacceptable.”
