Anupama Parameswaran’s next outing is a social drama titled Paradha, directed by Cinema Bandi fame Praveen Kandregula. The film also stars Darshana Rajendran and Sangeetha in pivotal roles. The theatrical trailer was unveiled today at Prasads Multiplex, Hyderabad, with Ram Pothineni gracing the event to launch it.

Anupama plays Subbu, a young woman from a village where women cover their faces with a veil. Subbu firmly believes that women should eventually marry and have children. She meets two city women, played by Darshana Rajendran and Sangeetha, who are poles apart from her and have different perspectives on life.

The trailer reveals glimpses of Subbu’s “cursed” village and ends with intriguing moments. What is the nature of this curse? Why must women wear veils in that village? And what brings Subbu into contact with these two contrasting women? The answers will be revealed on August 22.

Overall, the trailer hints at a thought-provoking drama addressing a women-centric social issue. The film also features Gautham Menon and Rajendra Prasad in key supporting roles. It is produced by Sreenivasulu P, Vijay Donkada, and Sridhar Makkuva, with music by Gopi Sundar.
