Malayalam film The Great Indian Kitchen, starring Nimisha Sajayan and Suraj Venjaramood, garnered widespread critical acclaim and resonated deeply with women. The film critiques patriarchy, shedding light on the struggles of women who are often reduced to their cooking abilities and judged unfairly.
The movie was remade in Tamil under the same title, with Aishwarya Rajesh and Rahul Ravindran playing the lead roles. Now, the Hindi remake titled Mrs. is ready to make its direct OTT debut. The Hindi version stars Sanya Malhotra and Angad Bedi in the lead roles. According to the latest update, Mrs. will arrive digitally on February 7 on Zee5.
The official trailer was launched a while ago with the release date. Female filmmaker Arati Kadav directed this flick and it is produced by Jyoti Deshpande of Jio Studios. The Great Indian Kitchen is watched by a wide range of audience already, and hence, it will be interesting to see how Mrs. will fare in the digital space.
