Tollywood star Ram Charan was the special guest at the Telangana government’s event on the occasion of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The event was held in Hyderabad, with CM Revanth Reddy, badminton legend Pullela Gopichand, actor Vijay Deverakonda, producer Dil Raju, and other prominent political and film personalities in attendance.

Speaking at the event, Ram Charan said, “I’d like to thank our state’s Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, my brother Vijay Deverakonda, Dil Raju, Pullela Gopichand, and everyone present here in such a meaningful awareness campaign under the ‘Rising Telangana’ initiative. I remember buying soda and popsicles at my school. Today, it’s heartbreaking to hear that in those same places, children are unknowingly consuming harmful substances in pursuit of a temporary high,” Charan said.

“We must protect our families, our friends, and our schools. That’s what truly matters. I never imagined there would be an internationally recognized day dedicated to fighting drug abuse, but here we are. Let’s all come together to support the Rising Telangana initiative and be active participants in this movement,” the actor added.

Charan was dressed in formal attire, and his stylish hairdo for Peddi was the main USP of his uber cool look. The highly anticipated pan-India rural sports drama also features Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor and Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar in lead roles. The Buchi Babu Sana directorial is slated for release on March 27, 2026.
