The big update coming from Bollywood media is that Anil Thadani has paid a mammoth 200 crores to acquire the North Indian theatrical rights of the most awaited PAN Indian film Pushpa 2: The Rule. This Allu Arjun starrer has rewritten all the existing records regarding the pre-release business.
Anil Thadani is said to have acquired the rights on an “Advance Basis” for this Sukumar’s directorial. This is the biggest deal ever for any film in the North Indian region. SRK’s industry hit Jawan held the previous pre-release business record (around 150 crores), but Pushpa 2 surpassed it with a solid 50 crores margin.
To be in a safe zone, the movie needs to earn a minimum of 400 crore nett in the Hindi heartland. Otherwise, the producers need to repay the distributor. Pushpa: The Rise is a phenomenon among the Hindi audience. A few initially wrote off the first part and underestimated its box office potential in Hindi, but the Allu Arjun starrer sprung a massive surprise with over 100 crores nett.
Will Pushpa 2 cross the records of Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan for the opening day, weekend, and lifetime total? Will Pushpa 2 create euphoria like Baahubali 2? Let’s wait and see. This action drama is slated for a grand release on 15th August 2024.
