Small-budget Tamil film named Paranthu Po recently premiered on Jio Hotstar after a successful run in theatres. The musical comedy drama headlined by Mirchi Shiva is now available in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Bengali, Kannada, and Marathi audios, along with English subtitles.
According to a report in Ormax Media, Paranthu Po is the most watched South Indian film last week (August 4 – August 10), amassing a total of 2.2 million views. Paranthu Po is ahead of other South titles like Siddharth’s 3BHK, Prithviraj Sukumaran and Kajol’s Sarzameen, and Nithiin’s Thammudu in the list. The viewership consists of the audience who watched for at least 30 minutes.
Akshay Kumar’s latest outing, Housefull 5, has topped the charts for the last week in the digital space. A film like Paranthu Po earning second place in this elite list despite not having any big stars is a commendable achievement. Grace Antony, Anjali, Aju Varghese, and Mithul Ryan played pivotal roles.
Directed by Ram, the film was produced jointly by Seven Seas & Seven Hills Productions, Jio Hotstar, and GKS Bros Productions. The music and background score were composed by Santosh Dhayanidhi and Yuvan Shankar Raja, respectively.
