The trade pundits are getting surprised by the collections of Jawan. The movie is registering numbers that were never heard before in the history of Bollywood. A few wrote off Shah Rukh Khan when he faced a few flops, but SRK has made a monstrous comeback and is ruling the box office like a king with Pathaan and Jawan.
Jawan collected 111 crores nett from its Hindi version in two days. On day 3, the film collected 68.72 crores nett and created history by registering the highest single-day collections ever for a Hindi film. To note, the previous single-day record was held by King Khan himself with Pathaan, which amassed 68 crores on its second day. To note, the second day of Pathaan was Republic Day.
On Sunday, Shah Rukh Khan will again break his own record as Jawan is expected to do a business of around 73-75 crores nett from the Hindi version. The final number will depend on the drop in the night shows (which generally happens before the first working day). We need to see if the India – Pakistan Asia Cup match would have any effect on the collections.
In three days, Jawan collected 180.45 crores nett from Hindi. The movie collected a mammoth 384.69 crores gross worldwide. Jawan will make around 530-540 crores by today. Atlee directed this action drama. Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi played vital roles while Anirudh composed the tunes.
