Dhruv Vikram and Anupama Parameswaran’s Bison a.k.a Bison Kaalamaadan started a bit slow but later the film picked up superbly at the ticket windows. The film directed by Mari Selvaraj is based on the life of Kabbadi player Manathi Ganesan, a man who strived to make it big in the sport while overcoming caste-based discrimination.
Because of Dude’s rampage, Bison was initially affected slightly but with each passing day, the movie registered solid growth in collections. According to trade reports, till now the movie earned over Rs. 35 crores gross globally. The majority of the collections came from Tamil Nadu.
Bison is expected to collect over Rs. 50 crores in Tamil Nadu alone in its lifetime. The Telugu version is slated for release this week and if the dubbed version clicks, the movie can earn more bucks. Sameer Nair, Deepak Segal, Pa. Ranjith and Aditi Anand produced it under the banners of Applause Entertainments and Neelam Studios. Niwas K. Prasanna composed the tunes.
