Kollywood legend Rajinikanth’s recently released pan-India gangster drama, Coolie, is having a steady run at the box offices across Karnataka. With a gross of Rs 37.23 crore, the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial collected the all-time second-highest first-week gross among all Tamil releases in Karnataka.
Continuing his record-breaking spree, Rajinikanth now has three all-time highest-grossing Tamil movies in Karnataka. Thalaivar’s Jailer and 2 Point 0 occupy the first and third places, respectively, in the list of top three Tamil movies in Karnataka, while Coolie stands in the second spot. However, given the considerable drops in the daywise collection, Coolie may not surpass Jailer’s lifetime gross in the Kannada land.
Nagarjuna, Aamir Khan, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, and others played key roles in Coolie. Produced under the Sun Pictures banner, the film has a soundtrack composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
