Chandramukhi 2 was promoted a lot as Kangana Ranaut was playing the female lead in this film which was being directed by P Vasu, who made the classic Chandramukhi with Rajinikanth and Jyothika.
Well, Chandramukhi 2 was released on September 28, 2023, and had a perfect release plan as the long weekend was on. But as the film started with a dull word of mouth, the collections have fallen down.
Despite the holidays, the film’s occupancy has come down and the film has ended as a failure at the box office. Kangana Ranaut’s performance also did not save the film from sinking.
In Tamil too, the film is doing just average business. Lyca Productions spent a bomb on this film which is not a sequel to Chandramukhi but had a small connection with the storyline.
