Mollywood superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran’s speech at the Globe Trotter event about numero uno director SS Rajamouli and his ongoing magnum opus, Varanasi, is sure to take the sky-high expectations on the movie to the next level. Prithviraj, who is playing an extremely complex, physically and emotionally challenging antagonist named Kumbha in the Mahesh Babu-starrer, was all praise for Rajamouli and his vision.

“The scale, the vision, the ambition – everything was India’s greatest contemporary mainstream filmmaker pushing his own limits to never-before territories. But what truly took my breath away was the audacity of the imagination. How does someone think like this? Where do you find the inspiration to picturize something like this?” Prithviraj said in awe.

Talking about the film’s protagonist, Mahesh Babu, Prithviraj said, “The first Telugu film I ever saw in a theater was Pokiri. From then to now, the way you owned your heritage and built your legacy is truly awe-inspiring. For the superstar that you are, you truly deserve this film, and the film truly deserves you,” said the charming actor.

This is SS Rajamouli once again taking Indian cinema to the world, this time bigger, hopefully better, and definitely more audacious than ever before,” he concluded.
