Dulquer Salmaan’s period drama Kaantha, set against the backdrop of the film industry, hit the screens yesterday in Tamil and Telugu. Directed by Selvamani Selvaraj, the film features Bhagyasri Borse as the female lead, with Samuthirakani and Rana playing key roles. It is jointly produced by Rana Daggubati, Dulquer Salmaan, Prashanth Potluri, and Jom Varghese.
The makers conducted a press meet during which Rana said, “I am elated to see the great response from audiences for Kaantha. The performances, especially, are being highly appreciated. People are talking about the rich visuals and the music quality. Kaantha is a film with top-class production values.”
He added, “I thank everyone for their kind support. We are getting tremendous feedback. Kaantha is the first genre-bending film. Since it is set in the backdrop of Madras and Tamil audiences watched it without expectations, they connected strongly to it.”
