As two big-ticket movies, War 2 and Coolie, were released and have been drawing audiences in cinemas, no major movies are scheduled to hit big screens this week, except for Anupama Parameswaran’s Paradha.
So, it is time to look out for OTT releases, and you have a lot of options to watch. Here, we came up with the list of movies and series coming your way this week.
Doraku Cell Phone Vachindi:
ETV Win brings another short film under the ‘Katha Sudha’ series. Currently streaming, the film stars Tanikella Bharani in the lead role; this drama is directed by Ganganamoni Shekar.
Prema Katha:
Released in 2024, this Telugu movie finally gets a digital home. ETV Win announced the premiere date of this romantic drama that failed big time at the box office. You can stream it from August 21, 2025.
Soothravakyam:
Malayalam mystery thriller Soothravakyam was released in cinemas in July 2025, and the movie, headlined by Shine Tom Chacko, is confirmed to arrive in Telugu exclusively on ETV Win on August 21, 2025, and it may arrive in its original languages on Netflix on the same date.
Kothapallilo Okappudu:
Remembered the criticially acclaimed Telugu film C/o Kancharapalem? The movie producer Praveena Paruchuri turned director with Kothapallilo Okappudu, a rural comedy drama that is presented by Baahubali actor Rana Daggubati. The film is scheduled to stream on Aha from August 22, 2025, with a day ahead for Aha Gold subscribers.
Thalaivan Thalaivii / Sir Madam:
This is another village drama centered between a crazy couple, played by Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen. Pandiraj helmed this movie, which grossed more than Rs. 75 crore at the box office, but failed to see the same reception in Telugu, released as Sir Madam. You can watch it on Amazon Prime Video from August 22, 2025, in Tamil, Telugu, and other languages.
Maareesan:
This Fahad Faasil’s latest Tamil movie also has Vadivelu in a crucial role. Sudheesh Sankar handled the film, and now it is arriving on Netflix on August 22, 2025, not only in Tamil, but also in other major Indian languages including Telugu.
Maa:
Hindi actress Kajo-led horror movie Maa hit screens in June 2025, and the movie is now gearing up for digital release on Netflix on August 22, 2025. There is no clarity on its Telugu audio availability.
Peacemaker Season 2:
John Cena returns as Christopher Smith in Peacemaker Season 2. The new series is set to stream in India on Jio Hotstar from August 22, 2025. The good news is, you can watch it in your regional comfortable language, even in Telugu.
Also, Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu and Kireeti Reddy-Sreeleela’s Junior are likely to arrive on Amazon Prime Video on August 22, 2025. Apart from these, if you are a fan of Hollywood movies – Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning and Brad Pitt’s F1 may land on Amazon Prime Video for rent on August 20 and August 22, respectively.
