Akhil Akkineni, who is currently going through a rough phase in his career, will next be seen in Lenin. The movie is being directed by Murali Kishore Abburu of Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha fame. In a recent episode of his talk show Jayammu Nischayammuraa, Jagapathi Babu revealed that Nagarjuna stopped him from being a part of Lenin.
Jagapathi Babu shared, “The makers of Akhil’s new film wanted to cast me for a small role. When Nagarjuna came to know about it, he told them not to approach me for such an insignificant character, as it could affect our friendship. I was deeply touched by his gesture. He is one of the producers. He didn’t have to do that, but he still cared for me. That’s why I look up to him.”
Reportedly, the movie is based on the theme of honor killings. Initially, Sreeleela was signed as the female lead, but she later opted out due to date clashes. Bhagyashri Borse is now said to be playing the female lead. The project is being jointly produced by Naga Vamsi’s Sithara Entertainments and Nagarjuna’s Annapurna Studios, with Thaman composing the music.
