Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s Thamma hit the big screens yesterday, amidst good expectations. The horror comedy film, which is a part of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, is directed by Aditya Sarpotdar. The Hindi version received good reports, and the movie posted a strong opening.
In India, Thamma collected Rs. 25.11 crores nett and emerged as the second biggest opener of the franchise, and is next only to the mighty blockbuster Stree 2. For the production house, Maddock Films, Thamma is the third biggest opener after Stree 2 and Chhaava.
For Ayushmann Khurrana, Thamma is the biggest opener by a margin, and the movie is expected to post good collections in the coming days. Thamma also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Paresh Rawal, Faisal Malik, and others in key roles. Sachin-Jigar composed the tunes.
