Government authorities, NGO and even individuals have been assisting thousands of migrant workers who are making desperate efforts to reach their homes far away from their workplaces across the country. In a massive humanitarian gesture, popular Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has so far helped over 12,000 migrant workers reach their homes in various parts of India.
For the last few weeks, Sonu has been arranging buses, food and safety kits to the migrants who are on their way home as part of his ‘Ghar Bhejo’ mission. His prompt responses to migrants in crises on social media are winning everyone’s hearts. At the end of this pandemic, Sonu would be helping at least 50,000 or more migrants reach their homes and it’s no mean feat.
