Superstar Rajinikanth’s recently released action entertainer, Jailer, is riding high on the positive buzz and is packing a solid punch at the global box office. The film collected over $2 million within just 2 days in the USA. Worldwide, Jailer has grossed a staggering Rs 200 crore plus gross within 3 days, and is in no mood to slow down in the next few days.
On the other hand, Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Bholaa Shankar released yesterday to a lukewarm response from fans and critics alike. The underwhelming buzz on this Vedalam remake has cost heavily and, in a shocking turn of events, Bholaa Shankar is trending much lower than Rajini’s Jailer at the box offices across in the twin Telugu states.
As per the latest updates from trade circles, Bholaa Shankar’s collections said to have dropped almost one third of the capacities. At the same time, Jailer is running to packed houses in the Andhra, Ceded and Nizam regions. The situation is such that many screens of Bholaa Shankar are being allotted for Jailer. This is a rare instance where a non-Telugu star’s movie is overshadowing a top Telugu star’s movie in the Telugu states.
