Saiyaara, Bollywood’s latest blockbuster romantic drama, is taking the country by storm. The film, directed by Mohit Suri, introduced two national heartthrobs in Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. Saiyaara scripted history by becoming the biggest Hindi romantic drama opener ever, surpassing Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (Rs 19.45 Cr nett), which was released in 2013.
Saiyaara opened on Friday with a whopping Rs 21.25 crore nett (Rs 25.10 Cr gross). The film cashed in on the glowing reviews and the positive buzz on its day 2 and ended up amassing close to a whopping Rs 24 crore. The film’s 2-day total nett collection amounts to Rs 45.25 crore.
Witnessing the massive craze for the movie at single screens and multiplexes across the country, Bollywood trade analysts are predicting that Saiyaara will comfortably cross the Rs 200 crore milestone, while a Rs 300 crore finish is not ruled out. The film’s box office performance from Monday will determine its actual potential.
