Unfortunate news for Marvel fans. Jonathan Majors, the actor who played Kang, a supervillain in Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania and the Loki TV series, won’t be part of upcoming Marvel movies.
On December 18, 2023, a New York jury found Majors guilty of assault and harassment. However, he was cleared of two other charges related to an alleged domestic violence incident with his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.
The verdict implies that Majors might not have meant to assault Jabbari but is still held responsible for harassment. In March, Majors faced arrest for charges including strangulation and assault after Jabbari accused him of assaulting her during a dispute in a taxi. Despite not testifying, Majors’ legal team argued that Jabbari had assaulted him.
Marvel’s decision to cut ties with Majors has left MCU fans wondering who will step into the role of Kang in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and other projects initially featuring Majors. The fate of these projects remains uncertain, and fans eagerly await an official announcement from Disney and Marvel.
