Nara Rohith is gearing up to entertain audiences with his 20th film, Sundarakanda, directed by debutant Venkatesh Nimmalapudi. The movie, produced by Santhosh Chinnapolla, Gowtham Reddy, and Rakesh Mahankalli under the banner of Sandeep Picture Palace (SPP), generated buzz with its songs and Rap trailer. Vriti Vaghani and Sri Devi Vijaykumar played the female leads.

Ahead of the release on Wednesday, August 27, Nara Rohith interacted with the media and shared some interesting details. Here’s the transcript:

Did Sundarakanda start before Bhairavam?

Actually, Sundarakanda should have been my comeback film. The script work began in 2022. When Venkatesh told me this idea, I felt tensed. I wasn’t sure how the audience would accept. But that was the time when Bro Daddy was released, and it opened doors for us. It had an awkward point that was handled quite beautifully. Venkatesh came to me with 30 scenes, and I liked them. People will have a smile on their faces throughout the film since the treatment is light-hearted.

Lately, you have portrayed only serious roles. How was it playing a role that offers fun?

Venkatesh has been traveling with me for the last five years. We discussed a lot for the movie, and all that came in handy for us. This is a new story for the Gen Z audience. There is a new element in my character, and I enjoyed playing it thoroughly. Sundarakanda is a clean entertainer with fresh treatment. It will connect with one and all.

Is this an age-gap love story?

At the moment, I can’t disclose the conflict point in this love story. The five qualities that the hero expects in his better half are very peculiar. You have to watch them only on the big screen. Fun will be generated based on the situations that the protagonist goes through.

Tell us a few words about the director.

What Venkatesh envisioned in his mind, he effectively translated onto the screen. He penned a unique story and made it into a wonderful film. He is a very sensible director who will reach great heights.

Can you tell us about Siree Garu’s cameo?

Her cameo is an interesting part of the movie. I believe she is my lucky charm. Bhairavam emerged as a decent hit, and I firmly believe Sundarakanda will also fare well.

What is your favorite genre?

I love romantic comedies and sports dramas. If a good sports drama with an inspirational character comes my way, I will take up the project without any second thought.
