Finally, Prabhas’ latest action thriller, Saaho, has finally entered the rare $3 million club in the US on its second Saturday. With this, the film has joined the elite list of Telugu movies such as Baahubali 2 ($12M), Baahubali ($6.9M), Rangasthalam ($3.5M) and Bharat Ane Nenu ($3.4M) which surpassed the $3 million milestone in the US.
However, Saaho’s US theatrical run is nearing its end. The film may collect another $250K or so and end up falling short of Bharat Ane Nenu’s full run collections. This is disappointing, as a lot was expected from Saaho, especially considering its high stakes in the US. Distributors are staring at huge losses in the end.
