For the past few days, rumors have been circulating that Akshay Kumar will star in the Hindi remake of the Tollywood blockbuster Sankranthiki Vasthunam. It was also speculated that popular filmmaker Anees Bazmee would direct the project, with Dil Raju producing it.
However, a recent report from Pinkvilla has claimed that Akshay Kumar is not doing the Hindi remake of Venkatesh’s film. The report added that Akshay had watched the movie earlier simply as a film enthusiast, but he has no plans to remake it.
Furthermore, the report mentioned that Akshay Kumar and Anees Bazmee have indeed been meeting frequently, but for a completely different project. It remains to be seen whether the Hindi remake of Sankranthiki Vasthunam will materialize in the future.
As of now, Akshay has several projects in his lineup, including Haiwaan, Bhagam Bhaag 2, Welcome To The Jungle, and Hera Pheri 3.
