Mega Prince Varun Tej is making his PAN Indian debut with the film Matka. Palasa and Sri Devi Soda Centre fame Karuna Kumar is the director. Dr Vijender Reddy Teegala and Mohan Cherukuri (CVM) of Vyra Entertainments, who recently produced Hi Nanna, are backing the project.
The film’s regular shoot began today in Hyderabad. A huge set was built in the city where the shoot is happening currently. The team recreated the milieu from the 50s to the 80s, as the story takes place between 1958 and 1982. The movie’s story is based on a real incident that shook the entire nation. The mega actor will appear in four different get-ups as the story spans over 24 years.
Matka is the costliest project in Varun Tej’s career, and the makers zeroed in on an incredible team of technicians. GV Prakash Kumar is the tunesmith, while A Kishore Kumar will crank the camera. Karthika Srinivas R (Pushpa Fame) is the editor. Ashish Teja Pulala is the production designer, and Suresh is the art director.
The movie will have multiple action sequences, which will be supervised by four fight masters. Nora Fatehi and Meenakshi Chowdary are playing the female leads. Naveen Chandra and Kannada Kishore will be seen in other crucial roles.
