From the beginning, Pushpa 2 had phenomenal hype across all languages. Hence, trade pundits predicted that the mass action drama would script history in openings. On the expected lines, Allu Arjun’s film has now become the highest-ever opener in the history of Indian cinema. According to the production house, Pushpa 2 earned Rs. 294 crores gross globally.

Previously, RRR held this record, but Pushpa 2 broke it by a huge margin. In India alone, the movie earned over Rs. 200 crores gross. Hindi and Telugu versions competed with each other, and the original version had a slight upper hand. The Hindi version posted a thumping Rs. 72 crores nett, which is the highest-ever opening for any film (including straight Hindi and dubbed films) in India.

The movie, directed by Sukumar, will comfortably surpass the Rs. 400 crore mark today. Rashmika Mandanna played the female lead, while Fahadh Faasil essayed the antagonist. Mythri Movie Makers produced this big-ticket entertainer.
