Making a grand visual spectacle based on the greatest epic Mahabharata has been a long-cherished dream for several Indian filmmakers, including the Baahubali and RRR helmer SS Rajamouli. While Rajamouli is yet to announce his plans on making his version of the Mahabharata, here’s a surprise revelation.
As per the latest updates from the Hindi film circles, The Kashmir Files and The Vaccine War director Vivek Agnihotri will be directing a mega trilogy of the Mahabharata. The official announcement is expected to be out soon, while the shooting for the first part of the trilogy might commence early next year.
For this epic trilogy, Vivek Agnihotri would be adapting the best selling novel, Parva, authored by Padma Bhushan Dr SL Bhyrappa. The film will be produced by Vivek Agnihotri’s wife and actress Pallavi Joshi. Interestingly, Vivek had made a few derogatory and blasphemous statements on the Mahabharata and Hindu gods and goddesses in the past. Naturally, a large section of the netizens is not happy with Vivek helming this epic now and they are demanding an apology from him.
