Nithiin’s Thammudu: Non-Theatrical revenue shines amid box office disappointment

Producer Dil Raju’s latest release, Thammudu, starring Nithiin and directed by Venu Sriram, has unfortunately crashed at the box office. Despite decent pre-release buzz, the film failed to strike a chord with audiences and is now expected to be pulled from theatres within the next couple of days.

Made on a budget of around Rs. 65 crore, Thammudu has shockingly collected less than Rs. 4 crore at the box office so far. Though the non-theatrical rights fetched around Rs. 32 crore, the recovery falls far short. The film is staring at an estimated loss of approximately Rs. 30 crore, making it one of the biggest setbacks for Sri Venkateswara Creations in recent times.

This marks the second major disappointment for the banner this year, following the underperformance of Game Changer, increasing the pressure on future projects from the house.

All eyes are now on Yellamma, Dil Raju’s upcoming film starring Keerthy Suresh and reuniting him with Nithiin. Directed by ‘Balagam’ Venu Yeldandi, the film carries strong expectations. Whether it can help the producer see profits again and give Nithiin a much-needed hit remains to be seen.
