Hopes are sky-high for the Tamil biggie Coolie. Starring Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead role, the film is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and is set to hit cinemas on August 14, 2025.
The buzz around the movie is equally strong in the Telugu states. A clear indication of this is the staggering price for the Telugu theatrical rights – Asian Suniel Narang, Suresh Babu, and Dil Raju have reportedly acquired them for over Rs. 48 crore (excluding GST). This is a massive amount for any Tamil film in recent times. An official announcement is still awaited.
Meanwhile, Coolie’s first single is all set to drop today at 6 PM, and expectations are sky-high, especially with Anirudh Ravichander composing the music.
Alongside Rajinikanth, the film also stars Nagarjuna in a negative role, Shruti Haasan, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, and features a cameo by Aamir Khan. Produced by Sun Pictures, this big-ticket entertainer is releasing in multiple Indian languages.
