India’s numero uno filmmaker SS Rajamouli’s RRR has been creating waves internationally by winning several prestigious awards, including the Golden Globe. But, the star director says that he doesn’t make films for critical acclaim.
In a recent interview with a Hollywood publication, Rajamouli said that he makes films for money. “I make films for money, I make films for the audiences. I don’t make films for critical acclaim. RRR is a commercial film, and once my film commercially does well, I’m very happy. Awards are an extension to it. It is for the hard work that my unit put in and I’m happy for that,” said Rajamouli.
Meanwhile, all eyes are on the announcement of the Oscar nominations which will be made on January 24th. The film’s Naatu Naatu song has been shortlisted for a nomination in the Best Original Song category.
