With the feel-good films Godavari and Anand, actress Kamalinee Mukherjee found love among the Telugu audiences. She hasn’t been active in the film industry for some years. In a recent podcast, the actress revealed that she stepped away from Tollywood since she was hurt by Ram Charan’s family drama, Govindudu Andarivadele.

Sharing her experience working on the film, Kamalinee said, “The shoot part was really amazing. But towards the end, I felt a little out of place, not because of the crew or my co-actors. I wasn’t very comfortable with how my role in the film turned out. It wasn’t anything contentious or a fight kind of thing. I stepped away from Telugu films after Govidundu Andarivadele since I was hurt.”

Kamalinee Mukherjee added, “I am a very emotional person. I don’t hold anything against anyone. My co-actors in the film gave me wonderful support. Cinema is so nebulous. It is not defined by anything in the immediacy. Sometimes actors think they got the best scene, but it might not have the impact that it is supposed to. We will not be aware of those things because they happen behind.”

The actress reiterated that she was deeply hurt by Govindudu Andarivadele, which prompted her to take a long break from Tollywood. Kamalinee Mukherjee later believed that non-Telugu films could utilize her potential to the fullest.
