The cat is finally out of the bag! Malayalam stalwart Mohanlal took to X on Saturday evening and made a formal announcement on the third installment of his highly acclaimed family thriller, Drishyam. The legendary superstar also shared a video with Drishyam director Jeethu Joseph and producer Anthony Perumbavoor.
As per Mohanlal’s announcement, Drishyam 3 will be going on floors from October this year, which means that the shoot will commence simultaneously with the Hindi version of Drishyam 3 starring Ajay Devgan.
The announcement video shared by Mohanlal begins with a close-up shot of his Georgekutty character, Georgekutty, and then shows Mohanlal shaking hands with director Jeethu Joseph and producer Anthony Perumbavoor. “October 2025 – the camera turns back to Georgekutty. The past never stays silent. #Drishyam3,” read the announcement.
Both Drishyam 1 and 2 were hailed as one of the best thriller franchises of all time in India. The film also features senior actress Meena in a lead role. With clarity emerging from the Hindi and Malayalam Drishyam camps, all eyes are on Telugu star Venkatesh, who had starred in Drishyam 1 and 2’s Telugu remakes.
