Drishyam 3: How will Venky & Ajay Devgn tackle the tricky situation?

For the past few months, there have been many speculations about Drishyam 3. Finally, Mohanlal officially announced the third installment, which came as a pleasant surprise to movie buffs and fans. Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph have once again joined hands for the iconic franchise, and netizens have started discussing the possible theories on the third part.

It is well-known that Drishyam 1 and Drishyam 2 were remade by Venkatesh and Ajay Devgn in Telugu and Hindi, respectively. Venkatesh scored a blockbuster with Drushyam 1, while Drushyam 2 was released directly online. On the other hand, Ajay Devgn released Drishyam 1 and Drishyam 2 in theatres, both of which were huge money spinners.

The big question now is when Ajay Devgn and Venkatesh will remake Mohanlal’s Drishyam 3. While remakes earlier used to be a reliable formula for success, there has been a considerable shift in viewing habits, which poses a significant challenge for the remake of Drishyam 3.

If there is a long gap between the original and the remakes, the audience may lose interest, as many would have already seen the original on OTT and be aware of twists and turns. This problem didn’t arise earlier, as the OTT boom has only increased in the last few years. This puts Ajay Devgn and Venkatesh in a tricky situation.

How both stars will tackle this challenge remains to be seen. While it would be ideal to take all three versions on floors simultaneously, it seems unlikely given Ajay Devgn’s massive lineup. On the other hand, Venky is yet to announce a film after Sankranthiki Vasthunam
