Superstar Rajinikanth’s Coolie picked up pace at the box office in its second weekend, and the film is looking to capitalize on this festive season. The gangster action drama directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj took a mind-blowing opening, but due to mixed reviews, the momentum was affected.
Rajini’s film has now unlocked a solid achievement. Coolie is now the all-time top 2 Tamil grosser at the Hindi box office, surpassing Thalapathy Vijay’s Leo. Vijay’s film, which was also directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, earned about Rs. 28 crores nett in its lifetime, and Coolie has overtaken Leo numbers to emerge as the second-highest earner from Kollywood.
Coolie is expected to collect in the vicinity of Rs. 32 -34 crores nett by the end of its run. Coolie had a release in national chains, unlike Leo. The all-time biggest earner from Tamil cinema at the Hindi box office is Rajinikanth and Shankar’s 2.0 with around Rs. 190 crores nett.
