Sandalwood actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, who was arrested for the brutal murder of his fan Renukaswamy in June 2024, will next be seen in the action drama Devil. The film’s release date and first single were unveiled by the makers on Sunday morning.
Devil will be hitting theaters worldwide on December 12, 2025. The film’s first song, ‘Idre Nemdiyaag Irbek,’ was also released earlier today. The mass hero intro number has been composed by Ajaneesh Loknath. Devil is directed by Prakash Veer, and it also features Rachana Rai and Bollywood actor Fardeen Khan in lead roles. The film is produced by Prakash Veer in association with J Jayamma.
Following his arrest on June 11, 2024, Darshan was granted bail by the Karnataka High Court on medical grounds. The actor is named accused number 2 in Renukaswamy’s murder, while his alleged girlfriend and actress Pavithra Gowda is accused number 1 in the sensational murder case. On August 14, the Supreme Court had cancelled Darshan’s bail, and the actor was sent back to jail.
