The Baahubali franchise, created by visionary filmmaker S. S. Rajamouli, redefined what Indian cinema can achieve on the global stage. The epic saga still enjoys a massive worldwide following, and now the two films have been re-edited into a single experience – Baahubali: The Epic.

Starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, and Anushka Shetty, this special four-hour cut was released in the US today and premieres in India tonight, ahead of its official release tomorrow.

As teased by Rajamouli, the end of Baahubali: The Epic surprised audiences with the announcement of a brand-new animated film set in the same universe. Titled Baahubali: The Eternal War – Part 1, the teaser wowed fans with its stunning visuals and a completely fresh storyline. Viewers who caught a glimpse of it couldn’t stop raving about the scale and imagination on display.

Producer Shobu Yarlagadda revealed that the 3D animated project has been in development for over two and a half years, with a massive Rs. 120 crore budget – almost on par with Baahubali: The Beginning. He also confirmed that this isn’t Baahubali 3 but a standalone story that expands the universe in a new direction.

Notably, Fortiche, the world-renowned studio behind Netflix’s Arcane, is handling the animation, with acclaimed filmmaker Ishan Shukla directing. The writing team includes Deva Katta, Madhan Karki, Sowya Sharma, and Vinay Varanani, while M. M. Keeravaani will compose the music. Prasad Bheemineni and American-Canadian producer Scott Mosier are jointly backing this ambitious project.

More updates about this ambitious project are expected soon. Stay tuned for the latest on Baahubali: The Eternal War – Part 1 and its journey toward release.
