Gone are the days when films used to run for many months. A few classic films even had a theatrical run for a year in the past. These days there is no such thing called “100-day theatrical run”. As movies are arriving on OTT within a few weeks of theatrical release, the long run is getting affected.
Ashwini Dutt, one of the legendary producers in the Telugu industry, commented on the same in a recent interview. According to Ashwini Dutt, the current OTT trend is changing audiences’ mindsets about going to theatres. Ashwini Dutt noted that their Vyjayanthi Movies banner produced several hit films that ran for 100 days.
He added that though Mahanati and Sita Ramam were big hits, he felt sad about the films not running for 100 days. Ashwini Dutt mentioned that the trend changed completely, and the theatrical business is getting to an end by the second or third week. Ashwini Dutt stated his firm belief that Prabhas’s Project K would make his wish come true by running for 100 days.
