Akhil Akkineni is coming up with a spy action thriller named Agent. Directed by Surender Reddy, the film has Malayalam Megastar Mammootty in a crucial role. It was already announced the trailer would come out on 18th April. Today a press meet was conducted by the Agent team in Hyderabad.
During the press meet, a reporter asked Akhil why they dropped the PAN Indian release plan. Akhil clarified that they had not cancelled the PAN Indian release plan and added Telugu and Malayalam versions would release simultaneously. Akhil further said that the Hindi version would release on a later date.
Akhil explained that the release of Salman’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ka Jhan on April 21 and other factors made them change the Hindi version’s release date. As we don’t want to miss the outstanding release date (28th April) in Telugu, we have stuck to the original plan.
Akhil went on to explain that it is tough sometimes to get a universal release date for PAN Indian flicks and quoted the example of Kantara, which succeeded in all languages despite being released on different dates. Akhil noted that their team doesn’t want to have a hurried release in other languages.
