Akshay Kumar’s latest outing Jolly LLB 3 opened well at the box office, collecting Rs. 53.5 crore nett in its first weekend. The third installment showed solid growth on day two, but the India–Pakistan match on Sunday affected its business to an extent.
With the film receiving mostly positive reviews and word of mouth, a strong Monday hold was expected. However, Jolly LLB 3 managed to collect only Rs. 5.5 crore nett on its first working day, a drop of more than 50 percent compared to its opening day numbers.
The courtroom drama is seeing good occupancies on Tuesday thanks to discounted ticket prices, but it remains to be seen how the film will fare from tomorrow. Arshad Warsi, Saurabh Shukla, Huma Qureshi, and Amrita Rao play key roles, and Subhash Kapoor directs this story focused on farmers’ issues.
