Kollywood filmmaker Prem Kumar C, who delivered two back-to-back modern classics, 96 and Meiyazhagan, is gearing up for his next project. 96, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha, tugged at audiences’ heartstrings by exploring the emotional reunion of ex-lovers, while Meiyazhagan, headlined by Karthi and Aravind Swamy, beautifully portrayed human emotions.
Prem Kumar initially was supposed to do his third film with versatile actor Chiyaan Vikram, but plans have now changed. In a recent interview, the director revealed that his upcoming film will instead feature Fahadh Faasil in the lead role. He also confirmed that the project with Vikram has been delayed.
The Fahadh Faasil starrer will be an action thriller laced with Prem Kumar’s signature emotional depth. The director impressed Fahadh with a gripping 45-minute narration, and it will mark the actor’s first-ever Tamil solo lead film, outside multistarrers. The shooting is scheduled to begin in January 2026.
