Phanindra Narsetti’s second feature film 8 Vasantalu hit cinemas on June 20, 2025. While the film received mixed reviews, it recently stirred up a bit of controversy, which the director addressed openly in a YouTube interview.
During the conversation, Phanindra shared an unexpected detail that caught everyone’s attention. Although the film eventually starred Ananthika Sanilkumar, Hanu Reddy, and Ravi Teja Duggirala, he initially wanted to cast Deepika Padukone and Suriya in the lead roles. However, the producers felt it was better to go with newcomers, and the director agreed.
This revelation got many people wondering what the film might have looked like with that original star-studded cast. Now, 8 Vasantalu is gearing up for its digital premiere on Netflix. Interestingly, the film will stream in a different aspect ratio, offering viewers a distinct and immersive visual experience.
The film also features Kanna Pasunoori, Sanjana Hardageri, Mettu Nishesh, and Sumant Nitturkar in important roles. It was produced by Mythri Movie Makers, with music by Hesham Abdul Wahab.
