The sensational drugs scandal that rocked the Telugu film industry in 2018 has just witnessed a new twist. In a major relief for director Puri Jagannadh and actor Tarun, the Nampally Court in Hyderabad today dismissed the cases filed against both the stars by the Excise Department.
Due to the lack of solid evidences and witnesses, the Nampally Court has squashed 6 out of the 8 cases filed by a Special Investigative Team (SIT) of the Excise Department in connection with the infamous drugs scandal.
Back in 2018, the Excise Department had interrogated several popular film stars for months. The SIT had collected samples from the nails and hair of the accused. Upon investigation, the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) couldn’t find any conclusive evidence of substance abuse by Puri Jagannadh and Tarun. Citing the FSL report, the Nampally Court finally dismissed the cases filed against Puri and Tarun.
