The most eagerly awaited theatrical trailers for Shankar and Rajinikanth’s highly-anticipated sci-fi thriller, 2.0, were unveiled yesterday afternoon at a grand event in Chennai. Needless to say, all the three trailers took the internet by storm, and movie lovers kept raving about the splendid VFX and action sequences in the trailer.
And in less than 24 hours, 2.0’s Tamil, Telugu and Hindi trailers have amassed nearly 2.2 crore plus views on YouTube, setting an unprecedented record. While the Hindi trailer has clocked nearly 9.9 million views, the Tamil and Telugu trailers registered over 7.8M and 3.4M views respectively.
Thanks to this grand response, expectations on the film’s three versions have soared to new heights. 2.0, also starring Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson in key roles, is slated for release on November 29. AR Rahman has composed the music and Lyca Productions has bankrolled this magnum opus with a record budget.
