Venu Yeldandi’s directorial debut, Balagam, ended up both as a classic and a commercial success. His next project, Yellamma, which is also rooted in Telangana, is yet to go on floors despite the director making several attempts to start the project. The casting is the reason for the massive delay.
Nani was first approached, but since he didn’t show interest, the film went to Nithiin. The Ishq actor even officially confirmed his presence, but due to undisclosed reasons, he exited the project. Later, Sharwanand and Bellamkonda Sreenivas’ names popped up, but in an unexpected development, the project landed in the hands of music composer Devi Sri Prasad, according to multiple reports.
The Gabbar Singh music composer is making his acting debut as a lead actor with this flick, as per the buzz, and the latest speculations suggest that he is also keen on composing the music. It is said that Dil Raju and Venu initially approached Bollywood composer duo Ajay-Atul and that they were also paid a handsome advance.
Will Dil Raju and team continue with Ajay-Atul or will they prefer DSP for the music as well? That remains to be seen. Star heroine Keerthy Suresh plays the female lead.
