This week is not so great for theatres in the Telugu states. The holdover titles are continuing, whose run is almost coming to an end, while there aren’t any big releases from Tollywood. Dhruv Vikram’s Bison was released in Telugu, but the sports drama holds limited appeal. Hence, the limelight shifts to OTT with a wave of new films hitting the digital space.
OG:
The main attraction is undoubtedly Pawan Kalyan’s career biggest grosser, OG. Directed by Sujeeth, the gangster action drama is currently streaming on Netflix in multiple languages. The film is currently trending at the top position on the digital platform.
Vash Level 2:
Gujarati psychological horror thriller Vash Level 2, directed by Krishnadev Yagnik, is currently available on Netflix in Gujarati and Hindi languages. The movie is a sequel to the 2023 film Vash. For those not familiar with Vash, the Gujarati film was remade in Hindi as Shaitaan by Ajay Devgn with small changes. Vash: Level 2 stars Janki Bodiwala, Hitu Kanodia, Monal Gajjar, and Hiten Kumar in the lead roles.
Param Sundari:
Janvi Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra’s rom-com entertainer Param Sundari has now made its way to Prime Video. The film arrived on the OTT platform a couple of weeks ago on a rental basis, but it is now available for Prime Video subscribers without any additional charges. Directed by Tushar Jalota, the film is produced by Maddock Films.
Bhadrakaali a.k.a Shakthi Thirumagan
Vijay Antony’s recent political thriller Shakthi Thirumagan a.k.a Bhadrakali is now available for streaming on Jio Hotstar in multiple languages. Arun Prabhu is the writer and director of this film, which received decent reviews from critics.
Kurukshetra:
The second volume of Netflix’s animated original Kurukshetra has now arrived. The new season, featuring nine episodes, is streaming in multiple languages, including Telugu.
Mahabharat – Ek Dharmayudh:
India’s first AI-powered mythological series, Mahabharat: Ek Dharmayudh, is now available for streaming on Jio Hotstar in multiple languages, including Telugu. The series directed by Lavanya will contain 100 episodes, blending modern technology and offering a visually immersive and emotionally engaging experience. New episodes drop every Saturday.
Arjun Chakravarthy:
Telugu sports drama Arjun Chakravarthy is the biopic of Nagulayya, a kabaddi player from Nalgonda, Telangana, who represented India in the 1980s. Directed by Vikrant Rudra, the film stars Vijaya Rama Raju in the titular role. The movie is now available for streaming on Prime Video.
