Yash Raj Films, one of India’s iconic film production houses, has inked a landmark three-film deal with the United Kingdom Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer. The UK PM landed in Mumbai and visited the Yash Raj Studios on Tuesday. Incidentally, Yash Raj Studios completes 20 years of operations in India on October 12, 2025.
As part of the deal, Yash Raj Films will shoot some of its major productions in several picturesque locations across the United Kingdom from 2026. “The deal will create over 3,000 jobs and boost the British economy by millions of pounds,” the UK Prime Minister stated.
“Bollywood is back in Britain, and it’s bringing jobs, investment, and opportunity, all while showcasing the UK as a world-class destination for global filmmaking. This is exactly the kind of partnership our trade deal with India is destined to unlock – driving growth, strengthening cultural ties, and delivering for communities across the country,” said the British Prime Minister, who is on a two-day tour to strengthen trade ties with India.
Along with Sir Keir Starmer, representatives from the British Film Institute, the British Film Commission, Pinewood Studios, Elstree Studios, and Civic Studios also visited Yash Raj Studios. The British Film Institute and the National Film Development Commission of India (NFDC) will be signing an MoU to facilitate co-production and enable filmmakers from both countries to share resources and talent.
