Vetrimaaran is known for addressing oppression in an intense and captivating manner. The director’s much-anticipated sequel, Viduthalai 2, is due for release this Friday. While the first part highlighted Soori’s role, the second installment will revolve around Vijay Sethupathi’s character. Manju Warrier is playing a crucial role.

Just like Viduthalai 1, the sequel also received an A certificate from the censor board. Initially, the team locked the runtime as 172 minutes (2 hours and 52 minutes), but the latest update is that the director trimmed the length by 8 minutes even before the film’s release. The new runtime will be 164 minutes (2 hours and 44 minutes).

Vetrimaaran shared a video stating that he reduced the runtime after watching the final output. He added that it has been a great learning experience for everyone associated with Viduthalai 2. Vetrimaaran added, “It’s a long journey. I thank all the actors and technicians for their contributions. I can only talk about efforts and the public who should say how the film is.”
