A striking concept poster for Vijay Deverakonda’s 12th movie was unveiled on the occasion of his birthday yesterday. The interesting poster featured Vijay’s face shredded into pieces of paper. The poster had striking similarities with Ben Affleck ‘s Argo and a few other movies. This prompted a section of netizens allege that VD12 makers had plagiarized the poster.

This afternoon, VD12 producer Naga Vamsi responded to the allegations in his style. He took to Twitter and shared a few similar posters of Satyajit Ray’s Agantuk, Kaithi, The Bourne Legacy and even VD12 to give a perspective. “Before jumping on to the bandwagon of tags, it’s better to understand the context. Shredding or stripping identities concept is as old as the secret agencies. Kindly, refrain from temptations of passing judgement without proper basis,” Naga Vamsi tweeted.

While Naga Vamsi’s tweet invited mixed reactions, it remains to be seen whether or not the actual film is inspired by any movie. Vijay plays a cop in this as-yet-untitled movie. Happening young beauty Sreeleela is the female lead and Jersey fame Gowtam Tinnanuri is the director.
